Berkhamsted

Waters Developments acted as principle contractor on the re modelling and extension to this large executive home positioned on a private road in Berkhamsted. There was a requirement to work closely with the consultant tree arborculturalist and structural engineer throughout the ground work process due to the location and position of a significantly large fir tree with a protection order attached.

Initially demolition to the rear of the property and fitment of new supporting steelwork to make way for new extension and raised veranda. Substantial structural alteration to the existing building coupled with demolition and strip back to allow for a revised layout.


Home Farm Stowe School, Buckinghamshire

Waters Developments were contracted as specialist subcontractors on the conservation of this historic listed Farm. Set within the grounds of the renowned STOWE PUBLIC SCHOOL in Buckinghamshire

Our brief/contract was to sympathetically rebuild and repair all of the crumbling dilapidated masonry to the site which included structural walling to barn buildings, boundary walling, chimney stacks and ornate piers.

The Willows

Waters developments acted as developer and main contractor, whilst under taking a substantial redevelopment to a dilapidated 1890 residential riverside property within a conservation area and sympathetically reinstated, refurnished and extended to provide a 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom family home. Considerable liaisons with local planning and conservation officers throughout the project were required to provide a successful outcome.

The scope of works comprised of demolition to rear extension and strip back through the main house implementing substantial structural elements within.

A complete refurbishment to the interior and large extensions to the rear elevations carried out using reclaimed materials to mirror the remaining structure.

To the rear of the property the river frontage position of the property provided further challenges in term of the foundations and flood defence work to the garden.


Porch Farm Barns

Waters developments the client also acted as main contractor and CDM coordinator on the demolition and redevelopment to new and existing buildings on this brown field site in Cambridgeshire.

With the assistance of our safety consultants we safely carried out the demolition and removal of an asbestos clad farm building and removal of contaminated soil from the site prior to the erection of the new build barn style residence

Haycroft

Our objective was to create a new build barn style residence, using both new and reclaimed materials which would compliment the neighbouring listed buildings within this listed curtilage and conservation area.

The Old Stables

A conversion to a 1850s grade 2 listed barn into a high specification luxury home within a conservation area in Cambridgeshire.

Our objectives, to repair modify and extend the dilapidated masonry structure using reclaimed materials whilst providing up to date performance and modern living within

Initially supporting the structure prior to reducing floor levels and underpinning operations. Installation of steelwork was required to help retain rotated walling to one side of the building. Oak repair and replacement to the roof structure throughout. Exposed roof detailing with insulation over the rafters to provide feature roofs.


Roe Hollow

A four bedroom conversion to a large grade 2 listed brick barn within a conservation area in Cambridgeshire. Initially stabilising of the building was necessary before under pinning operations to the structure as a whole.

Substantial structural support to the existing structure prior to the removal of the dilapidated internal brick walls for re use to extend and repair the existing buildings were carried out.

Removal of the roof coverings for reinstatement with extensive oak repair work to the rafter, purlin and truss detail. The challenges to retain the original character of the building were met throughout the construction process with careful detailing.
